It has been brought to my attention that we are closing in on Mother’s Day, May 13th, here in the USA. So I activated the Al-Net, did a Google search or three, and compiled a list of gift ideas with links. So whether you are buying gifts for your mom or a spouse helping buy gifts for mom here are some ideas to help make the runner, cyclist, triathlete or fitness mom happy.
Road ID
First things first. If the mom in question rides bikes and doesn’t have a Road ID. Get her a Road ID gift certificate, then hover until she orders one. Safety first.
Gift Certificates
Gift certificates are a safe bet. Possibilities include your local running store, bike shop or massage therapist. Finally DIY gift certificates for cooking dinner, laundry, vacuuming, dishes, etc. are another idea.
Apparel
Socks offer many options. Socks at SwimOutlet.
T-shirt, tank top or cycling jersey. Pick something that reflects her personal brand of awesome.
Helpful Tech

Gymboss Interval Timer, a stand alone timer for HIIT, Tabata and Circuit Training you can clip to your clothes or belt.
Cell Phone Dry Bag, because she will get in or around water sooner or later.
Tile Key/Phone Finder. If she is constantly losing her keys this is a great solution. If you are constantly losing your keys go ahead and get one. The less she hears either “Mom, have you seen my keys” or “Honey, have you seen my keys,” the less stressed she will be. Yes you can get them in multi-packs.
Reading & Listening Options
If mom is always reading fitness books a subscription to Audible or Kindle Unlimited might be just the thing.

Three years ago, my Mother’s Day gift was registration for a 70.3 in Aarhus, Denmark. Which then required buying a wetsuit, a bike, a plane ticket, etc…that was an expensive Mother’s Day gift by the time the race actually came around in September. Hardest triathlon I’ve ever done, too. The words “Viking Weather” are not joking words. The story of how I rolled into the airport with my bike is pretty funny, though…now.
Amy sounds like an amazing story!
