7 Signs You Are Working Thru a Slump

1. You look for a group exercise class to up your fitness game and get some peer support. You have trouble picking between death by kettlebell, pojo yoga, boxing your blues away, hardcore hula, and trampolines of terror.

2. You think better nutrition might be the answer so after a brief Google search you find yourself eating a chia, avocado, wheatgrass, cinnamon, blueberry, broccoli, Goji berry, kale, coconut, flax seed omelette.

3. You have watched so many motivational videos on YouTube that it finally suggests a found footage video of Leonardo da Vinci and Cecilia Payne-Gaposchkin demonstrating a bicycle powered 5G hotspot to Bill Gates and Jennifer Lawrence while Gilligan and the Skipper look on from the sidelines.

4. You decide to focus on goal setting. You set a goal to come up with good, solid fitness goals. This leads to a mind map of goals, a goal brainstorming session with your cat, Captain Socks, watching a video titled Goals Gone Wild and finally to a goal to set fewer goals.

5. You figure that fun and excitement is what is missing from your workouts. You shop for neon colored running shoes. Buy t-shirts with motivational mottos like Pain is Weakness Running for its Life. Order swim paddles shaped like manatees. However, the miniature disco ball on your bike handlebars proves to be too distracting.

6. Mindful meditation looks like a way to move ahead. You install nine meditation apps on your phone and set each to send you reminders. Unfortunately the apps’ reminders tend to interrupt your mediation. Closing your eyes in the checkout line proves to be a bad idea. And your boss wants to know why you were chanting in the restroom.

7. You have bought so many motivational books your Amazon bill is more than your grocery bill.
